Speed your BROWSER with OpenDNS

The performance of the DNS server you are using is one component that affects the speed of your internet browsing.  Since each domain name you type in must be resolved into an IP address, the amount of time that takes will delay the loading of any web page.  Some users with overloaded ISP DNS servers can see delays in multiple seconds before web pages start to load.
OpenDNS provides free alternative DNS servers that anyone can use with any internet provider.  Unlike many national internet providers, OpenDNS’s DNS servers are very fast and reliable.   Using OpenDNS servers instead of your ISP servers will help you speed up your internet browsing by cutting down on the delay between resolving a domain name and getting the IP address so your browser can start loading the web page.
Configuring your computer to use OpenDNS servers instead of your ISP’s is a simple change that works in both Windows XP and Windows Vista:
  1. Click on the Start Button and type in ncpa.cpl and hit Enter.  In Windows XP Click on the Start Button, click Run and then type in ncpa.cpl
  2. Right click on your active network connection that you use to connect to the Internet and select Properties.
  3. On the Networking / General tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (version 4 on Windows Vista & 7) and hit Properties.
  4. On the properties screen, select Use the following DNS server addresses and then type in 208.67.222.222 in the preferred and 208.67.220.220 in the alternate boxes.

        5.  Hit OK twice and you are finished.

Defend against stealers!

I'm going to show you how to defend yourself against most stealers. Unfortunately, there is no one program, like KeyScrambler for keyloggers, that can protect you against stealers. However, if there's no data to steal, then stealers pose no risk to you.

Some common things that stealers steal are:

FTP passwords
Firefox passwords
Steam passwords
and more.

A simple solution to avoid being 'stolen' is to just never check the 'Remember my password/Remember me' options in programs.

For Internet browsers, there's even an addon (for Firefox and IE) that can store your passwords & forms SECURELY. The program that I speak of is LastPass. Check it out! It's very simple to use. Also, be sure to disable the built in browser password managers.

An alternative to LastPass for Firefox users is Sxipper.

Simply put, just don't enable 'remember me' features in any program! In addition, it has been claimed that a firewall will, depending on which one you are using, prevent the stealer from accessing the remote server where it sends the details to. It'd actually ask you what you want to do, but hopefully you'd block it!  Thanks to D3N for this information.

I know this 'tutorial' wasn't that informative, but it'll hopefully prevent someone from losing their e-mail or what have you.

HOW TO MAKE A STRONG PASSWORD

Info: When you register to a website, you set a password which you can use to login to that site. That password needs to be strong and hard to guess. Why? Because, if someone guesses your password , they can sign in to your account and inspire unwanted damage to your account and maybe to others as well. That isn't a good thing because for some sites you need to leave some personal information witch that guy can steal. To minimum this risk you need to setup a good password which is hard to guess and hard to crack.

Guide: This guide will teach you how to minimize the risk of unwanted people getting your passwords. Ill show you some common and my own methods to make strong and easy to remember passwords. Lest begin to the methods. ;)

1st. Method (Basic and Strong Password)
To make a strong password it should contain upper and lower case characters, numbers and symbols such as"!?#¤%&/()=?,.-_*+¨'€½@£${[]}\" etc. But if you just randomly mix those characters to a one string you will get a strong but non easy to remember password. Thats why you should use this method to make that password easy to remember.

How To?: To make it easy to remember, Create a random sentence like, "A Dead Cow Jumped Between A Gate Made of Steel" or something like that. (Make it something that you can remember!) Now that you have your sentence you want to take the first characters from each word in the sentence and put them to the same order than the sentence is. In this case it would be: "ADCJBAGMOS". Now you want to make some modifications for the string you created from the sentence to make it strong. Lets change every second character to lower case making it look like this: "AdCjBaGmOs". Now we already have kind of strong password but we want to make it even stronger!!! Next we will edit it to "l33t". Do do this we will edit some letters that remind some number or mark. Lets change 2 upper case characters to numbers and 2 lower case characters to custom symbols and ends with something like this: "4dCjB@Gm0$".
There you got a strong password which you can remember easily ;)

2nd. Method (Improve the first method)

To make even stronger password you will need some other tools/websites. One way to improve your password is to add some special symbols like ßç¡Ç¿æÆ you can find lots of custom symbols here: CUSTOM SYMBOLS. Use the same way to add those characters to the string as you used in the first method to add normal symbols and numbers.

3rd. Method (Upside down!!!)

To make your password almost un-keyloggable, you need to do something called up siding down the sentence/string. To do this you might wanna use a site witch is use to upside down my sentence UPSIDEDOWN

To be sure that you will not get keylogged use a virtual keyboard

There are tons of good methods to make strong passwords but here is the most common ones you should use to make your own password. Never use something like "123123", "asdasd" or your name as password. They are rely insecure and easily guessable. Never save you password to your computer unsecured. Always use a crypter to encrypt and decrypt the password or use a program witch is designed to save passwords to your computer.

Now you have done all to make sure you have a secure and strong password witch is hard to guess. And now on its the sites hosts job to keep the passwords secure and not in the original format as its sent to the site. The host needs to crypt the password to a different format like md5 hash or different that possible hackers/crackers is hard to get the right info. Well here we got a other reason why you shouldn't ever use the same password on different sites!

Phishing gets lots of dollars $$

Phishing is intentional acquiring of personal and sensitive information from the victim by masquerading as a business or individual. A scammer tries locking on his target to obtain, usually, password and username for a certain website or bank. Phishing can be called a synonym to actual fishing. Scammer throws in a bait by sending you an email or a similiar medium, pretending to be a representative of the company he tries to get sensitive information. If you eat the bait, scammer has obtained your username and password or credit card information, whatever you have sent him. Phishing is largely used in paypal, egold and similiar payment processors, banks, credit cards and eBay, but is also used elsewhere where sensitive information persists. We are going to look at some examples on the most popular of those, eBay phishing. Scammers phish on ebay to obtain eBay ID’s which then are used to sell fake or non-existent goods or such accounts can be sold further in the underground market. In other words, the new owners of stolen eBay ID’s now are equipped with positive feedback, previously generated by the real owner, and are now used to scam people. Many types of ebay scams exist. How can you be a victim of phishing?

EBAY PHISHING EXAMPLE

MESSAGE FROM EBAY MEMBER

This genuine looking email is a masquerade. As soon as you clicked on “respond”, you were directed to an exact clone of eBay and your personal information was stolen. These messages come in different styles and writings. Go manually to ebay.com and check your private messages there and you will see if its real or not.

UPDATE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO

Look at the link here. It looks as valid as it could. It is written http://signin.ebay.com, but this written link actually points again, yes, to a clone of ebay. This is done with a href code in html coding. I will show you an example. Click on this link:

The Address shows ebay, but you were linked to facebook. I have linked you to facebook, but Con artist will link you to dupes of legit business websites and scam you. Beware what you click, your browser shows you the link in the left bottom corner if you only point over the link, without clicking it.

RE-ENTER ACCOUNT INFORMATION

This whole email was actually an image which referred you to a scam website if you clicked anywhere on it. Your mouse cursor changed to a “hand”, if you have this set as default when you point over a link.

SUMMARY
Before you buy an item, check the previous items sold by this seller. Chances are if he was selling unrelated and different items than he is selling now, this ebay ID might be a victim of phishing and is now used by a con artist. Banks, payment processors, eBay all alike will never send you emails to enter your personal information! If you do receive a important notice from eBay or bank and you are in doubt if its real, close the email, start a new session with your internet browser, and manually type in the address of your bank, ebay or wherever the notice claims to come from. If you got a private message to your email from a supposed ebay member, do the same as mentioned above. Manually type the address of ebay.com and check your private messages there! In this phishing example we used eBay as one of the most popular phishing places, but phishing frauds are all over the web, so beware.
